Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

Parents Code of Conduct

A child’s basic training in sportsmanship begins at home.

  1. If children are interested in participating, encourage them to participate. However, if your child is not willing, don’t force them.
  2. Focus upon your child’s effort and performance, rather than the overall outcome of the event. This will help your child in setting realistic goals for his/her ability and reduce the emphasis on wining.
  3. Teach your child that honest effort is as important as victory, so that the result of each competition is accepted without disappointment.
  4. Encourage your child to always behave according to the rules.
  5. Never harass or yell at your child for making a mistake or not placing in an event regardless of whether you are inside or outside of the arena.
  6. Remember your children are involved in organised sport for their enjoyment and not yours
  7. Remember that children learn by example. Applaud ALL performances by all athletes.
  8. If you disagree with the officials or coaches ruling, raise the issue through the appropriate channels rather than question the officials/coach’s judgement and honesty in public. Remember, all officials volunteer their time and effort for your children/s enjoyment.
  9. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from children’s sporting activities.
  10. All athletes in age groups under the age of 12 and below must be signed in and have a responsible adult present for the duration of each club meet. A responsible adult is not an older sibling.  Failure for a responsible adult to be in attendance with their athlete(s) will result in the athlete(s) not being able to compete.  The athlete(s) will be supervised at the clubhouse while their parent/guardian is called to collect them.

Failure to follow this Code Of Conduct will result in suspension/expulsion from the club.  Please refer to the clubs Discipline Document
